The desktop version requires Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 or Server 2008.
The desktop software functions only when the user interface is actively running
on the Windows desktop. The desktop software must be started manually or it can
be added to your “startup“ program group to have it automatically start when a
user logs into the Windows operating system.

The service version requires Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 or Server 2008.
The service version is a true Windows service, which means that it will
automatically start each time the computer is booted. With the service version
you do not need to keep the user interface running all the time on the
desktop... the program continues to operate even when the user interface is
closed. The service version also does not require a person to be logged into the
desktop for it to function. This version is recommended for anyone who is
running Windows 2000, XP or 2003.

The lite version has the same functionality and features of the Desktop
except for the following restrictions:
- Only one service can be configured at a time.
- No support for custom events (email, ftp and executing a program)
- No support for updating of desktop background.
- No support for automatically minimizing at startup.
The desktop lite version also includes a splash screen that cannot be
disabled.
